Seems a bit over the top, doesn’t it? Maybe…, but people have told me countless times that I’ve saved their lives. Actually, they say things like “Dude, you saved me. Thanks!” or “you’re a life saver, man, thanks!” They tell me these things because I shared some cool tip or trick in Excel that made their lives easier.
That’s what I want to accomplish with my website, HelpMeExcel.com. I want to save your life using Excel. I want to provide the tips and tricks that help you get your work done quickly, done accurately and looking clean and professional. I want you to leave work on-time, so you’ll be able to spend more time with your families, to help others, to sleep at night, and in general to “get a life”. I want you to be the Excel star in your office, so that when you share the tips and tricks you’ve learned from HelpMeExcel.com people will say to you “dude (or dudette), you saved me!” I want you to have the feeling that you can use Excel to make a difference in your job, family, church or whatever you choose to do.
I can save lives with Excel not because I have red swim trunks, a rescue tube and some zinc oxide on my nose. I can save lives with excel because I’ve been using various spreadsheet software since before receiving my BS in Business Administration from the University of Arizona and an MBA in International Management from The American Graduate School of International Management (aka Thunderbird).
I can save lives with Excel because I’ve used Excel as an Auditor, Accountant, Controller, VP Finance and CFO. I’ve built reporting schedules, financial models and mined data for large companies in and outside of the US in the Hospitality, Homebuilding, Construction and Manufacturing Industries.
I can save lives with Excel because using Excel I’ve converted G/L, A/P, PR and Reporting systems, coached all levels of Accounting and Finance professionals, even converted a few Engineers and Marketing professionals to the benefits of Excel.
At this point in the “About” section, Marketing professionals tell me that, I’m supposed to share some things about me that make me relatable. So, truth be told, I like baseball, college football, travelling, eating good food and laughing with my family and friends. I also believe that that I have the great blessing and obligation to help others.
That is what this website and James Tobin Consulting, LLC is all about. I invite you to join the HelpMeExcel.com community, because, something in it might just save your life too!
